The company, which was formerly known as Spectra Science Corporation until its rebranding in June 2001, manages its operations through three distinct divisions: Authentication Systems, Secure Transactions, and Banknote Cleaning. Its Authentication Systems segment delivers comprehensive solutions, including a blend of unique taggant materials and sophisticated sensor technology, vital for the verification of banknotes used by central banks, and contributes to passport security for G7 nations. This division also provides authentication tools for brand-name products. Furthermore, it produces advanced optical materials crucial for security and quality assurance, such as fluorescent, phosphorescent, invisible pigments and dyes, and gasochromic response materials, alongside offering custom material and hardware solutions. The Banknote Cleaning segment provides cutting-edge systems that employ a dry process utilizing supercritical CO2 to hygienically remove substances like sebum from banknotes, ensuring their cleanliness and disinfection. Under its Secure Transactions umbrella, the company supplies internal control systems designed to meticulously verify the accuracy of transactions for lottery and gaming operators. Additionally, Spectra Systems develops a variety of software and hardware products. These include high-speed currency authentication sensors, quality control equipment for the manufacturing and printing of both paper and polymer banknotes, and specialized machinery for security printers and hologram producers.
